There are two kinds of Bedside Harp® scholarships; Instructional Program scholarships starting from $50.00; and Certification Program scholarships starting from $150.00. Scholarships may be established in one’s own name, the name of someone to be honored or memorialized, or in the name of a company or corporation. Sponsors will write a letter to Bedside HarpĀ® to pledge a specific amount of money they wish to offer toward the tuition of one student or several students, write a short biography of the person they wish to honor or memorialize (honoree) or, in the instance of a company, a short description of that company, and then designate one person who will select the recipient of that award. This person shall be called the grantor of the scholarship.
Students interested in applying for a scholarship(s) will read the biography of the honoree(s) and/or the description of the sponsoring company and apply for one or several scholarships in a cover letter directed to Bedside Harp® along with an essay on why that student wishes to learn the harp (for Instructional Program scholarships) or become a Certified Bedside Harp Therapist (for Certification Program scholarships).
Essays will be sent to Bedside Harp® who will forward them to the appointed grantors of the scholarship. A Certification student may be awarded only one tuition scholarship for no greater amount of money than $800.00; an Instructional harp student may be awarded only one tuition scholarship per semester for no greater amount of money than $350.00. Bedside Harp® will announce the recipient of each award and formally notify the grantor as well. These scholarship awards are not tax deductible. Scholarships may be awarded every year, every other year, or any year or years the sponsor(s) choose(s). Scholarship sponsors for the 2004-05 year must contact Bedside Harp® in writing, stating the amount of money they wish to award and designating the grantor. WE REGRET THAT SCHOLARSHIPS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR CLASSROOM MODULES OR INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS HELD AT BUCKS COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
